Fort Worth Community Mourns Beloved Crossing Guard Found in River

Mark Knowles, affectionately called “Pop,” served as a crossing guard at Lila B. Elementary School in Fort Worth. The police recovered his body from the Trinity River last week. News of his passing deeply affected the local community and the school where he was a beloved figure. The circumstances surrounding his discovery have led to widespread mourning among family, friends, and those who knew him through his role as a crossing guard.

Mark Knowles was a familiar sight to many students and parents as he helped children cross the street safely each day.
