A collision involving a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus resulted in five individuals being hospitalized after the bus veered off course and hit a tree near the White Rock DART Rail Station early morning of August 25, 2025.

Dallas Fire-Rescue was alerted to the incident at approximately 5:46 a.m., responding promptly to the scene located at 7333 E. Northwest Highway. Initial reports indicate that the bus had jumped the curb, crashed through a bus stop shelter, ascended the station’s stairs, and finally came to a halt against a tree.

Upon arrival, emergency services extricated at least one person from the wreckage. The bus driver and four passengers were subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported at the scene. While the exact cause of the crash remains undetermined, DART has initiated a comprehensive investigation to uncover the circumstances leading to the accident.

To facilitate cleanup efforts, one DART track near the scene was temporarily deenergized, although rail services were not canceled. Trains on the Blue Line are operating on a single track, causing delays as they alternate passing through the affected area. Commuters, including a group of nursing students who were en route to their first day at El Centro College and had to seek alternative transportation, expressed frustration over the disruptions.

Footage captured by NBC 5 depicted the bus lodged on the stairs, with multiple tow trucks on site attempting to remove it using chains and cranes. Despite the morning’s challenges, DART officials anticipate clearing the site ahead of the afternoon commute, advising passengers to remain updated on service changes.
