Actors Tom Cruise and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu presented a preview of their upcoming comedy Digger on April 14 at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, as part of a showcase by Warner Bros..
Cruise appeared in a clip from the film with a transformed look, portraying a character inside a mansion filled with taxidermied animals while holding a white cat. He described the film as “wild” and “funny” during the presentation.
Inarritu said the role marked a different kind of challenge for Cruise, citing the demands of the character.
Warner Bros. held the presentation on the second day of CinemaCon, highlighting recent projects including Sinners, Weapons and One Battle After Another.
The studio also presented footage from Dune: Part Three, introduced by director Denis Villeneuve and cast members Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya and Jason Momoa.
Additional previews included Practical Magic 2 starring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, The Great Beyond directed by J. J. Abrams, and Supergirl directed by Craig Gillespie.
Executives Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca of Warner Bros. Motion Pictures Group said the studio increased its film output from six productions in 2022 to 11 last year and plans to release 14 films this year.
Separately, attendees saw footage from Godzilla Minus Zero, directed by Takashi Yamazaki. The film, a sequel to Godzilla Minus One, is scheduled for U.S. release on Nov. 6 and stars Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe.
Independent distributor Neon also presented upcoming projects, including Hope starring Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung, Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander.
Neon also announced I Love Boosters directed by Boots Riley and A Place in Hell starring Michelle Williams and Daisy Edgar-Jones.
