MEXIA, Texas – A six-year-old boy named Tyrus is hosting a lemonade stand today to raise funds for his upcoming open-heart surgery. The event is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at 1322 E. Milam Street in Mexia. Lemonade will be sold for $3 per cup.

Tyrus is undergoing surgery to repair a hole in his heart. His family has organized the lemonade stand to help cover associated medical expenses and support his recovery.

Community members in Mexia have shown support through donations and by helping to promote the event. The family hopes the effort will ease some of the financial burden and raise awareness of Tyrus’s medical needs.

Proceeds from the lemonade sales will go toward costs related to the procedure and follow-up care. Local residents and businesses have expressed interest in participating, either by attending the event, making donations, or providing supplies.

The event highlights a broader effort within the community to provide support for families facing significant medical expenses. Tyrus’s family says they are encouraged by the response and grateful for the support.

The lemonade stand remains open through the afternoon on May 10.
