MANILA, Philippines — Taiwan has extended its visa-free entry program for Philippine passport holders for another year, allowing eligible Filipinos to stay in the territory for up to 14 days without a visa until July 31, 2027.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Teco) in the Philippines announced Friday that the extension will take effect on Aug. 1, 2026.
Teco said the move reciprocates the Philippines’ visa-free entry privilege for Taiwanese passport holders.
Under the renewed arrangement, Filipinos holding valid passports may enter Taiwan without a visa for stays of up to 14 days from Aug. 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, subject to existing eligibility requirements.
Taiwan first launched its visa-free entry program for Philippine passport holders under a pilot scheme in November 2017.
The Philippines, meanwhile, implemented a 14-day visa-free entry program for Taiwanese passport holders in July 2025.
Teco said the extension is expected to help sustain tourism and people-to-people exchanges between Taiwan and the Philippines.
The office also reminded travelers to review the requirements and conditions for visa-free entry before traveling.
