DreamWorks Animation released the first official teaser for “Shrek 5,” revealing a new adventure featuring Shrek, Fiona and Donkey as they travel to the city of “Further, Further Away” ahead of the film’s 2027 theatrical release in the Philippines.

The teaser reunites returning cast members Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey and Cameron Diaz as Fiona. The film also introduces Zendaya as Felicia, the daughter of Shrek and Fiona, alongside Marcelo Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo as her brothers, Fergus and Farkle.

In the trailer, Shrek, Fiona, their sons and Donkey set out for “Further, Further Away.” Upon arriving, they encounter unfamiliar characters and later appear behind bars. Donkey responds to the situation with humor.

Despite being announced as part of the cast, Zendaya’s character does not appear in the teaser.

Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn direct the film. Vernon previously worked on “Shrek 2,” “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” and “Monsters vs. Aliens.” He also voices the Gingerbread Man, known as Gingy, throughout the franchise.

Dohrn served as a writer and artist on the second and third “Shrek” films and as head of story on the fourth installment. He also voiced Rumpelstiltskin in “Shrek Forever After” and directed entries in the “Trolls” franchise.

Gina Shay produces the film alongside Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri. Brad Ableson serves as co-director.

“Shrek 5” will open in Philippine cinemas in 2027.
