MANILA, Philippines — South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun will return to the Philippines for a fan meet on Oct. 2 in Manila, marking one of his major public events after authorities cleared him of allegations involving underage dating.

A Philippine clothing and lifestyle brand that Soo-hyun endorses organized and announced the fan meet.

“I’ve missed you all so much. I’m truly happy to be back with [the brand] and to see you again,” Soo-hyun said in a recently released video.

The announcement came after South Korean police cleared Soo-hyun of allegations that he violated the country’s Child Welfare Act.

The allegations stemmed from a criminal complaint that the family of late actress Kim Sae-ron filed in May 2025. The family alleged that Soo-hyun dated Sae-ron when she was 15.

Soo-hyun’s camp acknowledged that the two had dated but said their relationship began when Sae-ron was no longer a minor.

Police also concluded in May that evidence presented against Soo-hyun, including messages and voice recordings, had been manipulated and generated using artificial intelligence.

The controversy had centered on claims that Soo-hyun had maintained a relationship with Sae-ron while she was underage.

Soo-hyun is known for his roles in Korean television series including “Dream High,” “My Love from the Star,” “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” and “Queen of Tears.”

The Oct. 2 event will give Soo-hyun an opportunity to meet Filipino fans as he resumes public activities following the investigation.
