MANILA, Philippines — Actress Kathryn Bernardo’s wax figure was officially unveiled at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong on Thursday, marking another milestone in her entertainment career.
The wax figure was modeled after Bernardo’s look when she received the Outstanding Asian Star award at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards in South Korea.
Bernardo said she was honored to join the Filipinos featured at the world-renowned wax museum.
“I’m just very humble to be there alongside these icons. Of course, Manny Pacquiao. Nakakatuwa kasi iba-iba ang field namin. We also have Pia and Catriona, Ms. Lea Salonga, Ms. Anne Curtis, and now I think I’m the youngest again. Nakakatuwa,” she said.
Bernardo joins boxer Manny Pacquiao, Miss Universe winners Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, theater performer Lea Salonga, and actress-host Anne Curtis in the museum’s collection of Filipino personalities.
The unveiling also drew an emotional reaction from Bernardo’s mother, Min, who thanked Madame Tussauds for recognizing her daughter’s achievements.
“Kamukhang-kamukha niya. Thank you to Madame Tussauds for considering my daughter. Napakaswerte. It’s another milestone for her career and also sa aming family,” she said.
Madame Tussauds Hong Kong will display Bernardo’s wax figure as part of its collection of international personalities, where visitors can view the likeness alongside other notable figures.
