QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Actor Rommel Padilla said plans are underway for a fourth installment of the Bad Boy film franchise, with his son, Daniel Padilla, being considered for the lead role alongside Kaila Estrada.

Rommel made the statement during the advance screening of Bad Boy 3 on Thursday, June 4, at a mall in Quezon City.

During the post-screening question-and-answer session, actor Robin Padilla was asked whether he still wanted to be associated with the “bad boy” image that became a hallmark of his career.

“Ipapamana ko na po ito sa Bad Boy 4, sa mas batang artista. Iintroduce na po natin,” Robin said.

When members of the media asked whether he was referring to Daniel Padilla, Rommel confirmed that discussions for the next film were ongoing.

“In the works. Syempre dahil nanggaling doon sa pinanggalingan din ay kailangan doon sa kagalingan din ibibigay,” Rommel said.

Asked whether Kaila Estrada would be Daniel Padilla’s leading lady in the proposed film, Rommel said, “Aba syempre. Naman. Para naman makita na magkasama silang dalawa sa Bad Boy 4.”

The original Bad Boy was released in 1990 and was followed by Bad Boy II in 1992. Bad Boy 3 marks the franchise’s return more than three decades after the second film.

Daniel Padilla and Kaila Estrada have been linked romantically after appearing together in public on several occasions since last year. Neither has publicly confirmed the status of their relationship, although both have shared photos of each other on social media.

The two actors previously worked together in the television action-drama series Incognito.
