Curlee Discaya, 10 others face arrest over alleged malversation

MANILA, Philippines — The Regional Trial Court in Bulacan has ordered the arrest of government contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya and 10 others on charges of malversation in connection with an alleged irregularity involving a flood control project in the province.

The arrest warrant, issued by Branch 20 of the Bulacan Regional Trial Court, also covers Discaya’s wife, Sarah Discaya, and St. Timothy Construction executive Ma. Roma Rimando. Authorities already have both women in custody in connection with a separate flood control corruption case.

The court also ordered the arrest of former Department of Public Works and Highways engineers Brice Hernandez and Jaypee Mendoza.

Also named in the warrant are Merg Jason Laus, Ernesto Galang, Norberto Santos, Lorenzo Pagtalunan, Juanito Mendoza, and Floralyn Simbulan.

The case stems from allegations of malversation related to a flood control project in Bulacan. Court records did not immediately provide additional details on the allegations.
