Rosé will make history as the first K-pop solo artist set to perform at the Grammy Awards, after the Recording Academy announced her inclusion in the lineup for the Feb. 1, 2026 ceremony in the United States.
The “APT.” hitmaker also earned nominations in major categories, becoming the first K-pop soloist recognized across the general field. She received nods for Song of the Year and Record of the Year for “APT.” and secured a Best Pop Duo/Group Performance nomination for the track with Bruno Mars.
Fans quickly expressed excitement on social media following the announcement, with many congratulating the BLACKPINK member on the milestone.
Rosé reacted to her first Grammy nominations in a November social media post, saying she was still processing the recognition and thanked the Recording Academy for the honor. She added that the nominations meant a great deal to her and others.
Released on Oct. 18, 2024, “APT.” drew inspiration from a drinking game Rosé played with her team in the studio. She initially questioned whether the concept was too lighthearted but decided to complete the song after early listeners responded positively.
Rosé said her collaboration with Mars began after she attended his concert in Seoul and later met him through a scheduled meeting, where he contributed ideas that helped shape the track.
