MANILA, Philippines — Actress Bea Alonzo and businessman Vincent Co have called off their planned wedding in Spain after failing to finalize a prenuptial agreement, a source familiar with the arrangements said.

The source told INQUIRER Entertainment that the couple reached a stalemate over certain provisions in the prenuptial agreement, with Co’s family objecting to terms they considered unfair while Alonzo insisted on the conditions. The source declined to disclose specific details of the provisions.

The reported cancellation came as some guests and family members had already traveled to Spain, where Alonzo owns an apartment in Madrid. The source said some attendees proceeded with their trips after purchasing plane tickets.

The couple had not publicly confirmed details of their wedding plans. Earlier reports indicated they considered holding the ceremony at St. Peter the Apostle Parish before shifting to a private ceremony abroad.

Alonzo and Co have kept details of their relationship private and have not issued statements regarding the reported cancellation.

Co is the son of retail magnate Lucio Co and holds leadership roles in several companies, including Cosco Capital Inc. and Puregold Price Club Inc..

Prior to her relationship with Co, Alonzo was engaged to actor Dominic Roque. Their engagement ended after several months.

Alonzo is preparing for her television return in the political drama “Whispers From Heaven,” with production confirmed by GMA Network.
