MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has made a reshuffle within the National Security Council (NSC), removing Vice President Sara Duterte from its membership.
Additionally, former presidents, including her father, Rodrigo Duterte, have also been excluded from the council.
The reorganization aims to streamline the council’s functions and potentially minimize internal conflicts.
The executive order allows for the inclusion of “other government officials and private citizens” at the President’s discretion, suggesting a possible expansion of perspectives within the council.
The relationship between Marcos and Vice President Duterte has notably declined, further highlighted by her exclusion from the NSC.
