LOS ANGELES — Actor and former professional wrestler Tyler Mane announced that he has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has begun chemotherapy treatment, using his social media platform to raise awareness about the disease among men.

In a video posted on Instagram, Mane appeared receiving chemotherapy treatment and said he had started chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Mane said that breast cancer affects men in rare cases and noted that the condition is often detected at later stages because it receives less public attention.

In the caption accompanying the post, Mane said male breast cancer accounts for about 1% of breast cancer cases worldwide. He also said he initially considered keeping his diagnosis private but decided to share it publicly to encourage awareness and early detection.

According to Mane, doctors initially dismissed the lump he discovered, but further examination and its removal led to the diagnosis after his wife urged him to seek additional medical attention.

He said he wanted to share his experience to help inform others about the disease and emphasize the importance of early detection, which can improve treatment outcomes.

Mane is known for portraying Sabretooth in the X-Men film series and reprised the role in Deadpool & Wolverine. He also appeared in Troy and portrayed Michael Myers in the Halloween franchise.
