Veteran lawyer Jose Sison passes away at 88

MANILA — Lawyer Jose Sison, the longtime host of the legal and crime television program “Ipaglaban Mo!”, died on Thursday, July 23, his family announced. He was 88.

His son, Jopet Sison, confirmed his father’s passing in a Facebook post.

“We are comforted that he lived a full life as a lawyer, a husband to Josie, a father to his six children, and a grandfather to his sixteen grandchildren,” Jopet wrote.

“Please keep him in your prayers and remember him with love and fond memories,” he added.

Sison hosted “Ipaglaban Mo!” on ABS-CBN from 1992 to 1999. The legal drama and public service program returned to the network and later aired on DZMM TeleRadyo from 2014 until 2020.

His family said the wake will begin Friday afternoon, July 24, at the Ascension Chapel of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City.

Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, at Heavens Gate 1 Memorial Park in Antipolo City.
