American football star Travis Kelce described his July wedding to pop singer Taylor Swift as “the best night of my life” during a briefing Wednesday, Aug. 12, as the couple continued to keep details of their ceremony private.

“I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and, you know, had fun with us,” Kelce, a Kansas City Chiefs player, said. “It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration.”

Kelce and Swift, both 36, married during two days of celebrations at Madison Square Garden in New York on July 2 and 3.

Kelce said the venue made the wedding especially meaningful because it fulfilled a childhood dream.

“It’s kind of cool to be able to, you know, live out my childhood dream of being in that venue and, you know, the mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married in there,” he said.

The couple has not released photos from the wedding. Swift’s spokeswoman later confirmed the marriage, while messages on Madison Square Garden’s large screens also announced the wedding.

Comedian and actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, according to reports. The couple wore outfits designed by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior, while Swift wore Christian Louboutin shoes.

About 1,000 guests attended the celebrations, which included numerous celebrities. Authorities closed nearby streets and deployed a heavy police presence for the event.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the couple paid the city $160,000 to cover costs associated with the wedding.

The couple began their relationship publicly in 2024 and announced their engagement in August 2025.
