Actress Kathryn Bernardo returned to Bhutan, 14 years after filming scenes for the television series Princess and I, and shared highlights of her trip on social media.

Bernardo posted photos and videos of her recent visit, which included hiking and sightseeing activities. She captioned her post, “This trend again… but make it Bhutan edition.”

Bernardo first visited Bhutan in 2012 during the production of the series, where she portrayed Maria Mikaela “Mikay” Maghirang, a Filipino girl who later discovers she is Princess Areeyah, the heir to a fictional kingdom inspired by the country.

The show also starred Daniel Padilla, Gretchen Barretto, Albert Martinez, Enrique Gil, and Khalil Ramos. Production for the series included location shoots in Bhutan.

In a separate development, Bernardo recently celebrated her birthday with a surprise from co-stars Maja Salvador and James Reid, who will appear with her in the upcoming project Someone, Someday. The series marks her first collaboration with Reid and is scheduled to premiere later this year.

Bernardo has also drawn public attention after she was seen with Mark Alcala on multiple occasions. Neither has confirmed the status of their relationship.
