MANILA, Philippines — Suri, the daughter of actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has legally changed her name, dropping her father’s surname and adopting her mother’s middle name, according to a report by People magazine.
The publication reported on Monday, citing public voter registration records in Pennsylvania, that the 20-year-old is now registered to vote under the name Suri Noelle.
Noelle is Holmes’ middle name. People said the legal name change was likely completed in New York before Suri moved to Pennsylvania, where she is studying musical theater at Carnegie Mellon University.
Suri had already begun using the name Noelle in 2024, including in her high school graduation program and theater productions. The voter registration records confirm the change is now legal.
Cruise and Holmes married in 2006 and welcomed Suri later that year. The couple divorced in 2012, with Holmes receiving primary custody of their daughter.
The name change follows years of reports that Suri has been estranged from Cruise, who has not been publicly seen with her since the divorce. He also did not attend her high school graduation in 2024, which Holmes attended.
Last year, Holmes denied a Daily Mail report claiming Suri became a millionaire after gaining access to a trust fund from Cruise, calling the report “completely false” in an Instagram Story.
Holmes is currently linked to New York-based contemporary artist Jason Bard Yarmosky, while Cruise was previously rumored to have dated actress Ana de Armas in 2025, though neither publicly confirmed the relationship.
