LOS ANGELES — Netflix released the official teaser for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things on July 16, offering a glimpse into the climactic battle that aims to end the reign of the antagonist Vecna.
The teaser hints at an apocalyptic war brewing in Hawkins, with Millie Bobby Brown’s character, Eleven, preparing to confront Vecna while remaining in hiding.
Also featured in the teaser are returning characters Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), Jim Hopper (David Harbour), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), all appearing to prepare for the looming confrontation.
Netflix has not yet announced a specific release date for season five. The show’s creators previously confirmed that this season would conclude the Stranger Things storyline, which began in 2016 and became one of the platform’s most popular original series.
