Spotify drops its all-time top-streamed songs, artists

As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, Spotify has revealed its most-streamed artists, albums, and songs of all time, showcasing the impact of streaming on music consumption over the past two decades.

Most-Streamed Artists of All Time

  • Taylor Swift takes the top spot, having held it in both 2023 and 2024, but was dethroned by Bad Bunny in 2025, with a massive 19.8 billion streams that year.
  • Following Swift and Bad Bunny, the top five artists include Drake, The Weeknd, and Ariana Grande.
  • Other notable names include Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Eminem, and Kanye West, rounding out the top 10.

Most-Streamed Albums

  • Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti” leads the album category, followed by The Weeknd’s “Starboy” and Ed Sheeran’s “÷ (Deluxe)”.
  • Other albums in the top 10 include Olivia Rodrigo’s “SOUR”, SZA’s “SOS”, and Post Malone’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding”.

Most-Streamed Songs

  • “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd claims the number one spot, closely followed by Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and “Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood.
  • Other popular tracks include “Starboy” (The Weeknd and Daft Punk), “As It Was” by Harry Styles, and “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi.

Spotify’s Impact on Music Industry
Spotify, which was founded in 2006 and is now the largest streaming platform, continues to shape the global music landscape. With 751 million users worldwide, including 290 million subscribers, Spotify has revolutionized music consumption, accounting for more than 31% of the market share. The streaming service continues to play a crucial role in the financial success of the music industry, with streaming now making up 82% of the industry’s revenue in the U.S.
