SEOUL — Choi Sooyoung of Girls’ Generation and actor Jung Kyung Ho have ended their 14-year relationship, according to statements from their respective agencies.
SARAM Entertainment, Sooyoung’s agency, confirmed the breakup, saying the two have decided to remain “good colleagues.” Management Allum, Jung’s agency, also confirmed the split while noting it is a private matter and declined to provide further details.
The pair began dating in 2012 and publicly acknowledged their relationship in 2014, making them one of the longest-followed celebrity couples in South Korea’s entertainment industry.
Choi Sooyoung debuted as a member of Girls’ Generation in 2007 and became widely known through hit songs such as “Gee,” “Genie,” and “Into the New World.” Beyond music, she built a successful acting career with roles in dramas including “Run On,” “If You Wish Upon Me,” and “Not Others.”
Jung Kyung Ho gained recognition through television dramas such as “Prison Playbook,” “Hospital Playlist,” and “Crash Course in Romance,” becoming one of South Korea’s most recognizable contemporary actors.
Both agencies emphasized that the breakup was amicable, with no additional explanation provided, consistent with the couple’s long-standing preference to keep their private lives out of the public spotlight.
