MANILA, Philippines — SB19 leads the 39th Awit Awards with 12 nominations, including Album of the Year for “Simula at Wakas,” following the P-pop group’s recent international performances.
The group earned the most nominations among this year’s contenders, with IV of Spades following with 11 and singer-songwriter Dionela with 10.
SB19’s nominations include Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Dam” and “DUNGKA!,” respectively. The group also received nominations in several performance, genre and technical categories.
Released on April 25, 2025, “Simula at Wakas” serves as the final installment of SB19’s trilogy, following “Pagsibol” and “Pagtatag!”
SB19 recently performed at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago, where the group represented Filipino music on the international stage.
The Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI), which organizes the Awit Awards, announced the nominees ahead of the awards ceremony scheduled for Sept. 15, 2026, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The 39th Awit Awards will recognize Filipino artists, recordings and music creators across grand, performance, genre, special recording and technical categories.
For the first time, the awards ceremony will open to the public as a ticketed event.
Among the major nominees, IV of Spades earned Album of the Year nominations for “Andalucia” and several other categories, while Dionela received nominations for “Ikigai,” including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rap/Hip-hop Recording.
SB19 also earned nominations for Best Performance by a Group, Best Pop Recording, Best Dance/Electronic Recording, Best Ballad Recording, Best Collaboration Performance and Best Global Collaboration Recording.
The awards ceremony will feature creative direction from Nico Faustino and Paolo Valenciano.
