MANILA, Philippines — Rochelle Pangilinan made a surprise appearance on the “Eat Bulaga” stage Saturday, Sept. 19, as the Sexbomb Girls reunited for a performance of their latest single.
The group initially performed without Pangilinan, prompting the show’s hosts to joke about her absence.
Vic Sotto teased the group’s performance and asked whether its members would appear complete. Allan K then asked if Pangilinan would join them, while Jose Manalo jokingly said she would not make it.
“Mas masaya talaga kapag nandito siya, pero hindi dadating,” Manalo said.
Sotto later introduced Pangilinan for the third time before she finally made a grand entrance onstage.
The group then performed its 2000 hit “Baile” with Pangilinan, followed later by their new single “Mama Mama.”
Pangilinan thanked the “Eat Bulaga” hosts for welcoming the reunion and said she grew up on the program.
“Dito na po kami lumaki, kayo po nagpatanda sa amin,” Pangilinan said.
She also thanked GMA Network for allowing her to appear on the show.
“Magpapasalamat na rin po ako kung bakit ako nakarating dito. Pinayagan ako sa wakas ng aking network, GMA,” she said.
The reunion came amid the ongoing legal dispute involving the “Eat Bulaga” franchise and GMA Network.
In 2023, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon filed a copyright infringement and unfair competition case against TAPE Inc. and GMA Network after the trio left “Eat Bulaga” on May 31 of that year.
The Sexbomb Girls also performed their 2002 holiday single “Wish Ko Sa Pasko” during Saturday’s episode and promoted their coffee table book.
Pangilinan also promoted her upcoming film “Apol of My Ai,” which will screen in select cinemas from Sept. 23 to Oct. 4 as part of the CinePanalo Film Festival.
