DALLAS, Texas– More than 38,000 residents across North Texas experienced power outages over Memorial Day weekend due to severe storms. The outages primarily affected Dallas and Collin counties.

According to local utility provider Oncor, the storms caused significant damage to power lines and electrical infrastructure. Crews were deployed to impacted areas to begin restoration efforts, with priority given to locations experiencing major outages.

In Dallas County, thousands of customers lost electricity as strong winds and heavy rainfall downed lines and damaged equipment. Collin County faced similar conditions, with many residents experiencing prolonged power interruptions.

The storms also disrupted critical infrastructure, including traffic signals. Emergency services issued advisories urging caution on roadways and reminded the public to report downed power lines to authorities.

Local officials acknowledged the ongoing work by crews and emergency responders and encouraged residents to remain patient as repairs continued.

Utility providers updated outage maps regularly to keep customers informed. Residents were advised to monitor official sources for updates and follow safety guidance issued by local authorities.
