Armand “Mondo” Duplantis of Sweden set a new world pole vault record at the All Star Perche meet on Friday, clearing a height of 6.27 meters.
The record-breaking jump, which took place during the World Athletics Indoor Tour event, marks the 11th time Duplantis has surpassed his own world record.
Duplantis, a two-time Olympic and World Champion, achieved the feat on his first attempt. His previous record of 6.26 meters, set in Silesia, was surpassed at the prestigious indoor meet held at the Clermont-Ferrand Sports Hall, an annual event that attracts top pole vaulters from around the globe.
The meet, which took place in front of a large crowd, further solidified Duplantis’s reputation in the pole vaulting community, with fans and fellow athletes celebrating the momentous achievement.
His success continues to elevate the profile of the All Star Perche meet, which has become an important stop on the World Athletics Indoor Tour.
