DALLAS, Texas– Lancaster Independent School District (ISD) has launched a new initiative aimed at combating food insecurity among its students with the opening of the WEBO Market, an on-campus marketplace designed to provide both essential resources and educational opportunities.
The WEBO Market, located within Lancaster ISD, focuses primarily on addressing food insecurity by offering students a steady supply of food and other necessities.
The district administration believes that ensuring students’ basic needs are met is crucial to enhancing their educational experience and overall well-being.
In addition to its role as a provider of essential items, the WEBO Market also serves as an educational tool.
Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the operation of the market, learning valuable life skills such as inventory management, customer service, and basic financial literacy.
Lancaster ISD Superintendent emphasized the importance of preparing students for real-world challenges beyond traditional academics.
