MANILA, Philippines — The official Instagram page of the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) was inaccessible on Thursday, Feb. 19, prompting speculation that it had been deactivated or hacked.
Visitors to the account received a notice stating, “Profile isn’t available. The link may be broken, or the profile may have been removed.” The organization has not released a statement regarding the issue.
The MUO’s official Facebook page remains active. Its most recent post, shared on Feb. 18, highlighted reigning Miss Universe Fatima Bosch’s visit to Ecuador.
Bosch continues to post on her personal Instagram account, including Bible verses on Feb. 19, despite joint posts with the MUO being unavailable.
The Miss Universe Organization has faced controversies in 2025, including allegations that Bosch’s victory was predetermined and criminal charges against pageant owner Raul Rocha for alleged drugs, weapons, and fuel trafficking. Reports also suggest the organization is experiencing a leadership crisis. Filipino businessman Luis “Chavit” Singson has expressed interest in acquiring the MUO and met with former U.S.-based Miss Universe executives in January to discuss a potential buyout.
