A 24-year-old Mexican national was sentenced to 135 months in federal prison on March 11, after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Audivier Martinez-Gomez was arrested on June 18, 2024, during a routine traffic stop when authorities discovered 29.6 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine hidden in the auxiliary tank of his truck.
The substance, extracted from the tank, tested positive for methamphetamine.
The arrest was part of a broader operation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to combat drug trafficking in Texas. The DEA, working with local law enforcement agencies, conducted the investigation that led to Martinez-Gomez’s capture.
