MANILA, Philippines — Actress and former Miss World Megan Young shared that rebuilding her confidence after giving birth was a gradual process, reflecting on her physical recovery one year after welcoming her first child.

In an Instagram post, Young shared a before-and-after video comparing her appearance one month postpartum and one year later. The video showed footage of her shortly after childbirth alongside recent clips of her exercising and working out at the gym.

Young said she did not experience an immediate “bounce back” after pregnancy and instead focused on gradually regaining her strength.

After receiving medical clearance from her obstetrician, she resumed physical activity through light walking before returning to weight training. She said she remained about 25 pounds above her pre-pregnancy weight after gaining a total of 50 pounds during her pregnancy.

Young also revealed that she contracted dengue fever five months after giving birth and worked to address diastasis recti, a condition involving the separation of abdominal muscles.

She said she has spent the past two months maintaining a consistent workout routine and monitoring her food intake, including while traveling.

Young said her goal has been to become stronger for herself and her family.

Young and actor Mikael Daez married in January 2020 and welcomed their first child, Leon, in 2025. Earlier this year, she also shared that she and Daez nearly ended their relationship during its early years before eventually reconciling and marrying.
