MANILA, Philippines — Thai-based Japanese-American actor Luke Ishikawa Plowden said he hopes to return to the Philippines for a larger entertainment project after making his first visit to the country.

Known for starring in the Thai series My Dear Donovan, Oh My Boss and Faceless Love, Luke spent two days in Manila as a special guest at the ROKID Philippines AI Glass Neo Fashion Show, where he walked the runway with actress Arci Muñoz.

During his stay, Luke joined a charity outreach in Baseco, Tondo, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, describing the experience as one of the highlights of his trip.

“I felt warmly welcomed. It was wonderful to share what I have, share a smile and share warmth with people,” he said.

Luke also said he was impressed by Filipinos’ passion for basketball and the warm reception he received from fans during his visit.

The actor revealed that several Philippine production companies have already approached him about possible film and television projects.

“I’m excited to engage with that and look for what the best script looks like, who the best actress is and what the project looks like,” he said.

Luke added that he and Arci Muñoz have discussed a potential collaboration but declined to provide details.

He also expressed interest in working with actress Liza Soberano, recalling the online comparisons between them that gained attention several years ago.

“I know that Liza and I had something go viral many years ago. There’s also a dream of doing a project with Liza at some point,” he said.

Luke thanked his Filipino supporters and said he hopes to spend more time in the country on his next visit, adding that he wants to learn more Tagalog.

The fashion show was organized by House of Yugen and Gen Yu to showcase wearable artificial intelligence technology. Organizer Josh Yugen said the event aimed to promote AI awareness and revealed plans to establish an institution that will teach AI to underprivileged Filipino children within the next few years.
