The Lakers fell 89-111 to the Celtics on Monday, suffering a disappointing loss despite contributions from their big three. After the game, Luka Doncic addressed the team’s struggles, pointing to both offensive execution and difficulty handling Boston’s physical defense.

“We’re not there yet,” Doncic admitted. “As I said, we’re working on it. You should see big potential in us three playing together.” The Slovenian star led the Lakers with 25 points, five rebounds, and three assists on 40.9% shooting from the floor and 57.1% from three.

LeBron James added 20 points, four rebounds, and five assists, but shot just 20% from three-point range, while Austin Reaves contributed 15 points and seven rebounds. Together, the trio accounted for all of the team’s double-digit scoring, highlighting the lack of offensive support from the rest of the roster.

Doncic acknowledged the Celtics’ physical defense as a factor, but stressed the Lakers needed to execute better. The team has struggled to find rhythm, having only played 11 games together this season due to injuries sidelining at least one of the big three in 45 contests.

The loss drops Los Angeles to 34-22. The Lakers will host the Magic on Tuesday, February 24, before visiting the Suns on Thursday, February 26.
