‘Life After Beth’ director Jeff Baena passes away at 47

Filmmaker Jeff Baena, known for his work on Life After Beth, has passed away at the age of 47.

The cause of his death has not been publicly disclosed.

Baena died at his home in Los Angeles, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

He was the husband of actress Aubrey Plaza, with whom he frequently collaborated both professionally and personally.

Baena’s death has shocked the entertainment world, with tributes pouring in from colleagues and fans. His unique style of filmmaking, which blended comedy with elements of horror, earned him recognition in the independent film community.

His 2014 film Life After Beth was particularly notable for its inventive narrative and performances, marking him as a distinctive voice in modern cinema.

Baena also directed Joshy, The Little Hours, and Horse Girl, all of which were well-received for their originality and offbeat storytelling.

Beyond his work as a director, Baena was also known for his writing and producing. His creative vision was evident in his projects, often featuring complex characters and unconventional plotlines. His films resonated with audiences for their emotional depth, humor, and thought-provoking themes.
