SAN FRANCISCO — Eligible U.S. iPhone owners can now file claims for a share of Apple’s proposed $250 million settlement over allegations that the company misled customers about enhanced Siri features.
The claims period opened Monday, Sept. 21, and will remain open until Dec. 21, 2026. Eligible claimants can receive $25 per qualifying device, although the final payment could increase or decrease depending on the number of valid claims and other settlement costs. The maximum payment is $95 per device.
The settlement covers the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max purchased in the United States between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025.
To qualify, claimants must have lived in the United States and purchased the eligible iPhone for purposes other than resale. They must also confirm that they expected to receive certain Siri Apple Intelligence features that they did not receive.
Claims can be filed through the official settlement website, SmartphoneAISettlement.com. Claimants can use their device’s serial number or other information requested through the claims process.
The lawsuit accused Apple of promoting enhanced Siri capabilities that were not available as consumers expected when the affected iPhones went on sale. The proposed settlement resolves those claims without an admission of wrongdoing from Apple.
Apple agreed to the settlement to resolve the litigation while denying the allegations. The company said it wanted to resolve the matter so it could focus on its products and services.
A federal court has scheduled a final approval hearing for Feb. 24, 2027. Payments will depend on the court’s final approval and completion of the claims process.
