ANAHEIM, California — Filipino singer and Disney Legend Lea Salonga reunited with fellow Disney Princess performers at the “Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration” in Anaheim on Friday, Aug. 14, performing songs from Disney classics as part of the D23 Day celebration at Disneyland Resort.
Salonga, who wore an ornate teal gown with a kimono-style design, performed “A Whole New World” from Aladdin with American singer Brandy, who portrayed Cinderella in the 1997 television film.
She also performed “Reflection” from *Mulan,” for which she provided the original singing voice.
The concert featured what Disney described as its largest gathering of Disney Princess talent, with several performers appearing together for the first time.
Joining Salonga were Disney Legends Paige O’Hara, Jodi Benson and Anika Noni Rose, along with Susan Egan, Halle Bailey, Auli’i Cravalho, Catherine Laga’aia and Judy Kuhn.
O’Hara, the original voice of Belle in the 1991 animated film Beauty and the Beast, performed with Egan, who originated the role of Belle in the 1994 Broadway production.
Benson, the original voice of Ariel, performed “Part of Your World” with Bailey, who portrayed Ariel in the 2023 live-action adaptation.
Cravalho, the original voice of Moana, performed “How Far I’ll Go” before joining Laga’aia, who will portray Moana in the upcoming live-action film, for “Along the Way.”
Kuhn performed “Colors of the Wind,” while Rose sang “Almost There.”
Brandy opened the concert with “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from Cinderella. The full cast closed the show with “When You Wish Upon a Star” from Pinocchio.
Ming-Na Wen, who provided Mulan’s speaking voice in the 1998 animated film, also attended and shared photos and videos from the event on Instagram, including a photo with Salonga.
The concert launched D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event and marked the opening of World Princess Week, Disney’s annual celebration of its Princess stories and characters.
