MANILA, Philippines — Rico Hoey staged an impressive finish at the Valero Texas Open, climbing into a tie for 39th place after a scorching closing round of 67 at TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course.

Hoey’s round featured a clutch 26-foot birdie on No. 4, followed by four consecutive birdies and a final 18-foot birdie on the ninth hole, highlighting his resilience and improving form after a string of early-season inconsistencies. Despite his strong finish, his 283 aggregate left him 25 spots shy of the leaders.

At the top of the leaderboard, J.J. Spaun secured victory with rounds of 66 and 67, finishing 17-under 271. Spaun’s defining moment came on the drivable par-4 17th, where a 306-yard drive set up an eagle that helped him clinch the title.

In LPGA action, Lauren Coughlin captured the Aramco Championship at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, holding off Nelly Korda with a five-shot margin to claim her third LPGA title.
