MANILA, Philippines — Television host Kris Aquino said she tested positive for COVID-19 again and experienced fever and cough following a recent hospitalization, according to a post on her Instagram account on Wednesday, May 6.
Aquino said her symptoms began more than a week before her post and included cough, fever, and weakness after taking her prescribed medication. She also said she recently used an antigen test that returned a positive result.
A photo she posted showed a COVID-19 antigen test kit with two lines indicating a positive diagnosis.
“I’ve been sick from the time I got out of the hospital, early Sunday,” Aquino wrote, referring to her condition following discharge. She also said her son, Josh, experienced coughing during the same period.
Aquino said she later developed fever after receiving a Methotrexate injection, which she said she takes as part of treatment for autoimmune conditions.
She said she decided to take a COVID-19 test after learning that a friend had recently been tested during a hospitalization.
“I said sleeping is a lost luxury because of my neverending fits of evening coughing,” she wrote.
Aquino also posted photos showing her receiving medical treatment in bed and used a song by Justin Bieber in her post.
She has previously spoken publicly about her ongoing treatment for multiple autoimmune diseases.
