MGI All Stars contestant Imelda Schweighart said she suffered a miscarriage while competing in the international pageant, according to a social media post she shared on Wednesday, June 3.
Schweighart disclosed the experience in an Instagram post where she also expressed gratitude to her partner, surfer Rafael Thibault, and shared photos of him and her son Noah.
She wrote that Thibault supported her throughout her pageant participation and described their relationship dynamic, noting shared involvement in surfing and pageantry activities.
In a separate message posted in the comments section of a pageant coach’s Instagram post, Schweighart said she experienced bleeding during rehearsals and was advised by production staff to rest.
She said she informed staff that she had been at a hospital but told them she was experiencing vertigo, adding that she continued competing despite her condition.
Schweighart said she did not further detail her pregnancy loss in her public posts but later wrote that she was recovering and that the most difficult part of her experience had passed.
She ended her MGI All Stars participation after failing to advance to the Top 18. Colombia’s Vanessa Pulgarin won the competition.
