MANILA, Philippines— The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) has issued a new subpoena to former Bicol Ako Representative Elizaldy “Zaldy” Co, compelling his presence at hearings on Nov. 11-12.
The hearings are part of an ongoing investigation into corruption in government infrastructure projects.
The ICI delivered the subpoena on October 20, following Co’s failure to respond to an earlier request to testify. The commission seeks to question Co about his alleged involvement in flood mitigation projects.
The hearings aim to explore possible corrupt practices in the management and execution of infrastructure initiatives.
Co, who served as the House appropriations chairperson, has not yet commented on the latest subpoena. The ICI continues to emphasize the importance of accountability and transparency in public infrastructure projects.
