MANILA, Philippines– Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson on Wednesday highlighted the diversion of P50 billion from unprogrammed appropriations to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the 2024 budget.

Lacson stated that the allocation designates P30 billion specifically for flood control projects. The funds are part of the national budget plan for infrastructure programs.

Lacson addressed the issue during a Senate session discussing the proposed budget allocations. The decision to redirect unprogrammed funds has raised questions about prioritization within government spending.
