MANILA, Philippines — Ian Veneracion expressed support for rumored wedding plans involving Bea Alonzo and businessman Vincent Co, saying the actress would make a “wonderful wife and mother.”

Speaking in an ambush interview, Veneracion said he recently crossed paths with Alonzo several times and noticed that she appeared “very, very happy.”

“We accidentally met a few times. I just hugged and congratulated her, saying I’m happy for her,” the actor said in Filipino.

Veneracion added that Co must be “someone special” for Alonzo to fall in love with him and expressed hope that he would get the chance to spend more time with the couple in the future.

“She would be a wonderful wife and mother. I’m sure of it. And I’m really happy for them,” he said.

When asked if he had advice about married life for Alonzo, Veneracion said the actress did not need any.

“We’ve been friends for a long time, she knows I love her,” he said, adding that he hopes to receive an invitation if wedding plans move forward.

Veneracion and Alonzo previously worked together in the 2017 television drama A Love to Last.

Rumors surrounding Alonzo and Co intensified earlier this year after a marriage bann bearing their names reportedly appeared at St. Peter the Apostle Parish.

Neither Alonzo nor Co has publicly confirmed or denied the speculation, and details regarding a possible wedding remain undisclosed.
