HOUSTON — The Houston Fil-Am Lions Club inducted its 2026-2027 officers, welcomed new members, and introduced the candidates for Mrs. Philippines Texas 2026 during its 38th Annual Induction Ceremony and the official visit of District 2-S2 Governor Kevin Smith.
Margarita Truong assumed the presidency after members installed the club’s new set of officers during the ceremony. The program also recognized the club’s past, current, and future activities, honored award recipients, and celebrated the organization’s continued commitment to community service.
District 2-S2 Governor Kevin Smith administered the oath of office to the newly elected officers. The program also included the induction of new members, recognition of Lions Club leaders, cultural performances, and entertainment.
The event also featured the presentation of candidates for Mrs. Philippines Texas 2026. Dr. Marilou Oro, Ann Garcia, and Mary Jane Osmeña joined the presentation during the evening program.
Leaders and members of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Texas–Greater Houston Region (PACCTX-GHR) attended the ceremony to support the Houston Fil-Am Lions Club and its new leadership. The delegation included Region President Gemma Villamor Gullaksen, State President Atty. Aileen Ligot Dizon, Tess Tuazon, Florencio Guinhawa, Tito Refi, Jaylord DiPalma, and Ann Almacen Garcia.
Community members, Lions Club officers, and guests gathered for an evening of fellowship, recognition, and networking. The ceremony concluded with photo opportunities and a celebration of the club’s new leadership under President Margarita Truong.
