MANILA, Philippines — Actress Heart Evangelista said she feels emotional about her mother, Cecilia Ongpauco, growing older, citing her as a key source of strength in her life.

Speaking in an interview on the television program Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Evangelista said she has struggled to see changes in her mother’s physical condition, particularly her reduced mobility.

She said she became emotional after realizing her mother was aging and experiencing physical difficulties.

Evangelista also said her mother helped her regain confidence during a difficult period, including when she returned to work at fashion events. She said her mother encouraged her to focus and reminded her of her self-worth.

She described her mother as a strong influence on her personal development, including her decision-making and resilience.

Evangelista said she remains grateful for her mother’s support and credited her for shaping her character and career.

She and her mother attended Paris Fashion Week together earlier this year, where Evangelista referred to her as her “momager.”
