The two-minute preview revisits iconic moments from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, including Harry Potter’s life with the Dursleys, his Hogwarts letter, and his introduction to the magical world. It also shows his first meeting with Rubeus Hagrid and glimpses of his arrival at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Newcomer Dominic McLaughlin takes on the title role, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The teaser features their first encounter aboard the Hogwarts Express.
Other cast members include Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Hagrid.
Set to premiere on December 25, the series will follow a book-faithful format, with each season adapting one novel from J.K. Rowling’s original series. The first season will focus on Harry’s early years at Hogwarts, his friendship with Ron and Hermione, and the looming threat of Lord Voldemort.
The show is led by showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod, with Rowling serving as executive producer.
