DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip —Hamas, the militant group controlling factions in the Gaza Strip, released three Israeli hostages on Saturday as part of a ceasefire agreement that temporarily halted the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which has lasted for 16 months.
The release was followed by Israel’s decision to free nearly 200 Palestinian prisoners, marking a significant moment in the exchange aimed at reducing hostilities between the two sides.
