FLORHAM PARK, New Jersey — Former “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi announced Friday that she has been diagnosed with stage one cervical cancer.

Polizzi shared the news in a TikTok video, saying a recent biopsy confirmed the diagnosis. She added that the early detection increases the likelihood of successful treatment.

“Obviously not the news that I was hoping for, but also not the worst news, just because they caught it so early,” Polizzi said in the video, which was recorded in her car between medical appointments.

Polizzi encouraged her followers to get regular Pap smears. She said she will likely undergo a hysterectomy following her initial treatment.

Polizzi, 38, rose to fame as a cast member on MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” which debuted in 2009. She also appeared in the spinoffs “Snooki & JWoww” and “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.” She lives in New Jersey, has been married for 11 years, and has three children.
