Theatre Group Asia announced on Nov. 22, 2025, in Manila that Filipino-American stage actress Lissa de Guzman, known for her work in “Wicked,” will join the cast of the musical “A Chorus Line,” which will run in the Philippine capital next year, as part of the production’s scheduled local staging.

Theater Group Asia confirmed that de Guzman will perform alongside a predominantly local and regional ensemble when the company mounts the production for Manila audiences.

The producers stated that the Manila staging will feature the original musical score and choreography licensed for the territory under an agreement with rights holders.

The company said it will announce the specific theater venue, performance dates, and complete cast list for the Manila run at a later date.

Theatre Group Asia said the Manila production aims to attract both local theatergoers and international visitors who follow major musical theater tours in Southeast Asia.

The company said rehearsals for the Manila staging will take place in the city before the opening and will follow a schedule coordinated with the creative team and cast.

Theatre Group Asia said it will release additional information about creative personnel, including the director, choreographer, and musical director, once all contracts reach completion.

The producers said they plan to promote the Manila engagement through digital campaigns, media partnerships, and promotional events leading up to the opening night.

Representatives of Theatre Group Asia said they expect to announce preview dates and press night details for “A Chorus Line” in Manila closer to the start of rehearsals.

The producers confirmed that the Manila run will follow the standard performance format for “A Chorus Line,” including an ensemble-focused narrative and full musical staging.

Theatre Group Asia said it will provide updates on the production through its official website and social media channels as the Manila schedule progresses.
