KENDALL COUNTY, Texas — Kendall County has been awarded a $700,000 federal grant to strengthen local efforts to investigate and prosecute cybercrimes, officials announced.
U.S. Sen. John Cornyn said the funding will support the county’s law enforcement and judicial systems as they respond to an increasing number of technology-related offenses.
According to the announcement, the grant comes through the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women.
County officials said the funding will be used to provide specialized training for investigators and prosecutors, expand digital evidence capabilities, improve victim advocacy services, and develop updated response protocols for cyber-related crimes.
Officials added that the investment is intended to enhance the county’s capacity to handle complex cases involving online and technology-based criminal activity.
