HOUSTON — Consul Von Ryan Pangwi, representing the Philippine Consulate General in Houston, attended the 42nd anniversary celebration and induction of officers of the Filipino American Accountants of Texas (FAATX) on Feb. 21, 2026, at the Philippine Community Center on West Bellfort.
Speaking on behalf of Consul General Gunther Sales, Pangwi commended FAATX’s past leadership, including immediate past president Randy Datu, for guiding the organization since its founding in 1984. He also congratulated incoming president George Verar and expressed confidence that the new officers will continue advancing FAATX as both a Filipino community organization and a professional association addressing developments such as the growing use of artificial intelligence in accounting.
The event concluded with Pangwi formally inducting the new set of FAATX officers. Members of the organization, leaders of Filipino community groups, and guests from across Texas attended the ceremony.
