Ukraine’s European allies are set to meet in London to demonstrate their strong support for President Volodymyr Zelensky following a tense encounter with U.S. President Donald Trump during Zelensky’s recent visit to the White House.

The dispute began on Friday during Zelensky’s visit to the Oval Office when Trump reportedly accused the Ukrainian leader of being unprepared for peace negotiations with Russia.

In the wake of this incident, European governments have rallied to affirm their unwavering support for Ukraine.

The meeting underscores the growing divide in diplomatic relations between Ukraine and certain factions within the U.S. administration.

Trump’s remarks, specifically questioning Zelensky’s readiness for peace talks, have raised concerns among European leaders, further complicating the geopolitical dynamics surrounding the conflict.

Ukrainian officials have reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing a peaceful resolution with Russia, but have emphasized that such negotiations must be conducted from a position of strength and sovereignty.

The continued support from European partners, they argue, is crucial in strengthening Ukraine’s negotiating position.
