American actress Carla Jeffery, who played cheerleader Bree in Disney’s “Zombies” film franchise, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, at age 33, her management company confirmed Thursday.
Alexanders Talent Management announced Jeffery’s death in a statement shared on the actress’ Instagram account. The company did not disclose her cause of death and asked the public to respect her family’s privacy.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Carla Jeffery, who passed away on September 1, 2026, at just 33 years old,” the statement said.
The management company described Jeffery as a client and member of its family and highlighted her role as Bree in the “Zombies” franchise.
Jeffery’s “Zombies” co-stars Milo Manheim, Trevor Tordjman and Freya Skye also expressed grief over her death.
In 2022, Jeffery disclosed that she had lived with epilepsy since she was 18. She also said she experienced a seizure while filming “Zombies.”
“I’ve had this for years, and it’s not going anywhere. I just have to work around it,” Jeffery said at the time. “I’m going to keep doing what I love, and at the same time, use my story to help others.”
Jeffery began acting at 12 and made her film debut in the 2006 movie “Phat Girlz.”
She later appeared in television shows including Nickelodeon’s “iCarly,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Miss Guided,” Disney’s “Good Luck Charlie” and “Shake It Up.”
Jeffery appeared in the first three “Zombies” films and later voiced Bree in Disney’s “Zombies: The Re-Animated Series,” which premiered in 2024.
